1. You try to edit or apply an existing protection plan,
  2. The "Save" button is greyed out, and an alert appears:

    Cyber protection functionality is not fully available on X machines. Update the agent on these machines to enable full cyber protection."

We recommend keeping your Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office (formerly Acronis True Image) up to date. You are eligible to download and install any new build of the software as long as your Essentials, Advanced or Premium subscription is valid. 


Symptoms depend on the product version:

  • Acronis Cyber Backup 12.5 builds 16180, 16318, 16327, 16342, 16343 contain build 0.7.127 –  SnapAPI module will not compile on kernel 5.8 and later
  • Acronis Cyber Protect 15 builds 24426, 24508, 24515 and later contain SnapAPI build 0.7.133 which imminently leads to kernel crash and the following error: 

cannot execute binary file: Exec format error
when trying to execute any binary file.


Remote agent installation or auto-update fails with the following error:

Certificate from <DC address> did not pass the verification. certificate verify failed


Backup to a managed location fails with:

Connection to the storage node failed. Backup to storage node is not supported by earlier agent versions. Update your Cyber Protection agent to build 26172 or later


Starting from Acronis Cyber Protect 15 Update 4, Storage Node can only accept connections from Agents with build 26172 or later.


Agent installation or update on Windows Server 2008 / R2, Windows 7, Vista fails with the following error:

Windows cannot verify the digital signature for this file. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source


The issue is caused by SHA-2 digital signatures missing on older Windows systems.

Downloading the update


Auto-update or remote update fails with the following error:

Task timeout expired. The agent that is responsible for processing the task is not accessible


Acp-update-controller service cannot connect to the Agent Core service. In such case Acronis Update Controller switches to "emergency update" mode, in this mode update tasks are not handled.


The issue was fixed in C22.08, but users should perform the following steps to apply the solution:


Due to the Acronis Cyber Protect 15 installer size limitation, the "Update Package from for Agent for Scale Computing" needs to be downloaded manually and must be placed in the corresponding folder on the Acronis Management Server machine.

Steps to perform:

      1. Download the "Update Package from for Agent for Scale Computing" as described in http://kb.acronis.com/latest


Agent update on Linux fails with:

The process is already running.


There is an orphaned lock file ( /tmp/trueimage_inst.lock ) left from an earlier update attempt that had been interrupted (by e.g. a hard reboot, power loss, power-off of the machine, manually stopping the installer's/updater's processes, etc.).


During the installation Acronis Backup extension returns the following error:

Cannot enable backup. Please try again later or enable backup from the backup console


Latest Plesk version introduces changes not supported by Acronis extension.


This issue has been fixed in Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud 21.12. Agent 28610. Please update to the latest build.


On attempt to perform cluster update the following error message appears as result of eligibility check:

shaman target is disabled on the following nodes:

Manual check of shaman.target shows on the listed node(s) shows that it is disabled indeed:


Update of Acronis Cyber Infrastructure to version 5.1 fails on stage of updating "Management panel and Compute API". Error message is "Failed to do post-update actions".

In logs of Management Node following error message can be observed during period of update:
