All the communications and data transfers between the components of the product are SSL-encrypted

All the communications between the components of the product are SSL-encrypted

Check the logs to make sure the backup has been created successfully

The problem is in incorrect SSL certificate generation for intercomponent connections of Acronis products. As workaround, try disabling SSL encryption

Question:

Why do I get the following error? TCP/IP Secure reports : error1407609C:SSL routines:SSL23_GET_CLIENT_HELLO:http request:s23_srvr.c:385: (6776)

Answer:

This error can occur if your SSL protocols are not matched up. To verify these settings first check the SSL encryption level for Incoming calls on the MassTransit Server.

    From the MassTransit Administrator -

Summary:

When using the TCP/IP Secure communication method between two MassTransit entities, the following error message may result, following a failed connection attempt: TCP/IP Secure reports: error: 1408A0C1:SSL routines:SSL3_GET_CLIENT_HELLO:no shared cipher

All communications between agents and Acronis Storage Node are encrypted (SSL protocol). To disable encryption and increase backup speed, especially on fast networks (10Gb+) please use this manual.

Do not disable SSL if one of the following conditions is met:

Symptoms

Remote agent installation or auto-update fails with the following error:

Certificate from <DC address> did not pass the verification. certificate verify failed

After you have disabled SSL 3.0, TLS 1.0, TLS 1.1 and left only TLS 1.2 running on the machine, application-aware backup of an SQL server finishes with a warning:

Symptoms

1. You have Acronis Management Server Update 2 (b27009) installed on Windows 2016 which is in domain (Domain Controller is also Win2016);

Use cases

  1. Your company's network has tight security, that incorporates firewalls or deep packet inspection software which interferes only with encrypted traffic. In this case, Acronis Connection Verification Tool will report the connection to be successful, yet the backup will fail. Once an unknown certificate is present in the chain, Acronis Storage rejects the connection.
  2. On MacOS, there is no Acronis Connection Verification Tool yet. OpenSSL can be used as a replacement for it.
  3. License sync with Acronis Account fails.

Symptoms

Backup to Cloud storage fails with:

Failed to establish connection with cloud storage

Could not perform SSL_write() call
