Introduction

This article explains how to disable the option to sign in as a current Windows user when connecting to Acronis Backup Management Console.

Solution

Acronis Cyber Backup 12.5:

Do the following on the machine with Management Server:

1. If Active Protection plan is applied to the machine, temporarily disable the Self-protection feature to allow modifying the configuration files;

1. You use Internet Explorer 11

2. When you attempt to log in to backup console via Sign in as current Windows user, nothing happens. Backup console does not open.

Symptoms

Audit log shows multiple User was blocked warnings with the following description:

<Username> was blocked due to ten failed sign-in attempts

User agent: 'Faraday v0.9.2'

Audit log tab shows that the failed logins came from IP in datacenter-internal 10.x.x.x network.

When one checks the events in the Audit log tab in the Management console at the tenant level where the respective cloud login was blocked, one can see parts of the event payload like:

You start Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office (formerly Acronis True Image) and provide credentials to your Acronis account.

Signing in fails with this error:

An error occurred while signing in. Please try again later.

Symptoms

On your mobile device, you sign in to Acronis Cyber Files Cloud. After entering a valid username and password, the inline browser never redirects the user back to the mobile application. Instead, either the spinner icon stays indefinitely in the center of the screen, or there is a message that the application's "links are blocked".
