Symptoms
Backups to QNAP NASes may fail at the very start of the backup with high-level user-visible errors like "error 0x29b1399: Network operation failed" (at the bottom of the detailed error stack, when viewed in the Acronis Backup Console UI).
It is possible that some backups to the same NAS work fine, while only a few or even one backup/backup plan fails.
Most often creating a new backup plan and using a new TIBX does NOT help.

Introduction
When investigating an issue with backup to network share, you may need to check what what SMB protocol version and NTLM versions a network share supports.
This is useful in cases where there is an unexplained connection failure to a share (unsupported SMB protocol version) and in case an error "Access denied" appears when credentials are correct (possibly NTLM version mismatch).
