Always make sure you are troubleshooting installation issues with the latest build of the product (if it is possible).

 Solution

Follow these steps to troubleshoot installation issues:

Issue

For my Acronis Cloud Security product, I want to perform remote installation of the Host Management Service on the Hyper-V host(s) that are accessible in the network. How do I do that?

 

Resolution

Remote installation option allows you to install the Host Management Service on multiple Hyper-V hosts simultaneously over the network.

For information on how to prepare machines for remote installation of the components see Acronis Snap Deploy: Preparing Machines for Remote Installation.

If you have Acronis Snap Deploy 4 components installed on the machines, you can install Acronis Snap Deploy 5 components over them.

Do the following to install Acronis Snap Deploy remotely:

Prepare machines for remote installation of Acronis Snap Deploy components

  • If you are running Windows 10, disable User Account Control (UAC) or enable and use the built-in administrator.

Symptoms

  1. Acronis Management Server is installed on a 64-bit machine
  2. When you attempt to add a device with 32-bit architecture, the installation fails with the following error:

     Installation process failed. {"Result":"Failed", "Code":"24510491", "Description":"Failed to download installation file 'resource.xml' from the server."}

Symptoms

  1. You try to install an Agent on a Windows XP 32-bit machine via Devices -> Add -> Windows or try to remotely update the already installed Agent on a Windows XP 32-bit machine.
  2. Installation fails with the following errors:

    Failed to launch installation or update support service on host <hostname>. Failed to launch service with error: %1 is not a valid Win32 application

    and

    Installation files are not found

Symptoms

  • Remote installation to Windows Server OS failed with the "The operation has failed with result '1603'" error
  • The server is a Domain Controller

The msi package installation log that can be found at C:\ProgramData\Acronis\InstallationLogs folder contains the following error:

Symptoms

You're attempting to install the Acronis Agent remotely from the management console into the Domain Controller machine; Installation fails with: "The operation has failed with result '1603'"

AB64 log (C:\ProgramData\Acronis\InstallationLogs\"logdate"\AB64.msi.log) on the the target machine shows the following error:
