This article will help you configure your Acronis Access Advanced desktop client to work through a proxy server.


When connected to the Internet through a proxy, the following parts of Acronis Ransomware Protection may malfunction:

  • Connection to Acronis account
  • Backup to Acronis Cloud


Acronis Ransomware Protection does not support Internet connection through proxy servers.


To check if proxy is enabled in your Windows settings, follow the steps below:

Proxy settings have been changed on the machine with Acronis Management Server. After that change, connection to network components (network location, agents, Storage Node etc) fails with an error similar to

Proxy with authentication is not supported in on-premise deployment of Acronis Backup 12.5.

If proxy is enabled in your environment, you may face errors when configuring backup to Cloud (errors 504, 403 etc) and when checking for updates. If you intend to use these features it is recommended to disable authentication or avoid using proxy entirely.
