Acronis Files Connect versions 10.0.4 and later have been tested for compatibility with macOS 10.12 ‘Sierra’. If you are running an earlier version of Acronis Files Connect, please install 10.0.4 or later to support Sierra client Macs.

Symptoms

During the installation of Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud on MacOS Sierra 10.12.1 the following warning appears:

Incompatible operating system
Agent for Mac may be incompatible with the current operating system. Agent for Mac is fully compatible with OS X 10.8 through 10.11.

Solution

You can ignore the warning, click OK to continue installation. The warning will be removed in the next update.

DeviceLock Agent for Mac provides only device/port control features of the DeviceLock Core (Base) module, while network-aware contextual controls and content-aware rules of the NetworkLock and ContentLock modules are not available for Mac computers.

After an update to macOS Catalina (10.15) Acronis backups instantly fail with the following error:

Internal error: mount point required for file-level backup

Symptoms

  • You run backup of disks or files on Mac device
  • Backup randomly fails with “Operating system error: Illegal byte sequence”

Symptoms

  • You are backing up a device with macOS Big Sur or newer OS version
  • Backup randomly fails with "Operation failed due to a temporary issue in the cloud storage"
  • In the error details, you see the message "Interrupted system call"

Symptoms

  1. You have an Entire Mac backup created on macOS 13 Ventura
  2. You start full system recovery from this backup
  3. After recovery is complete, you're prompted to install macOS 12 Monterey
  4. Mac is unbootable after installing macOS 12 Monterey

Cause

System won't boot when the backed up macOS is newer than the one installed after restore.

Solution

Download the macOS Ventura installer manually using one of the below methods and run the recovery once again:
