backup plan

You create a backup plan with a pre-set template for schedule - "Weekly full, Daily incremental"

You expect to have only the set amount of full backups, but in fact each month one extra is generated on the first day of the month.

Symptoms

1) After upgrading from Acronis Cyber Backup 12.5, protection plans are missing

AND/OR

A new plan can be created, but cannot be started: nothing happens when clicking on Run now, or the message "Queued" is displayed

2) Upgrade log (C:\ProgramData\Acronis\UpgradeTool\<upgrade-date&time>) contains error(s) "POR: Cannot access property by path '.Hash'"

Symptoms

You upgraded from Acronis Cyber Protect 12.5 to Acronis Cyber Protect 15.

When you try to edit an existing protection plan or create a new plan with Backup module enabled, the following error is displayed:

At least two drives must be specified in multistreaming options

Cause

Issue in the product: Tapes entry in the registry contains invalid value after the upgrade.

This issue will be fixed in future versions of the product.

Solution

As a workaround, rename the faulty registry key:

Symptoms

You have installed or upgraded Acronis Cyber Protect 15 software and deployed Agent for Scale Computing HC3 (Virtual Appliance) into the Scale Cluster.

Despite adding a sufficient quantity of the Advanced Virtual Hosts licenses, it is not possible to run existed backup plan(s) or create the new one.

Backup plan shows the following error:

The protection plan cannot be run as the device has no license

Symptoms

  • You have upgraded your system from Acronis Cyber Backup 12.5 to Acronis Cyber Protect 15.
  • After the upgrade, you created new protection plans. When you try to edit a newly created protection plan, there is a spinning loading circle with Reconnecting... message.

Symptoms

  • Protection plan has been disabled some time ago
  • After that, you have revoked the plan from device
  • Disabled backup plan suddenly starts running on the Agent again after C22.02 release.

Cause

Issue in the product.

The issue has been fixed in C22.03 release.

Description

  • You need to migrate a large number of cPanel hosts running on CloudLinux 6.10 or 7.9 to CloudLinux 8.x (e.g. CL8.5)
  • You would like to be able to continue using the same TIBX files and to keep using group plans/multi-machine plans applied to these hosts

Solution

Please follow the steps below to migrate:

1. Perquisites:

Symptoms

  • A non-existing backup plan starts running on agent machine after C22.04 release.
  • This plan has either been revoked or deleted previously.
  • If you check the protection plans applied to the device, the revoked plan is not listed.

Cause

Issue in the product: policy was not deleted from the agent.

Acronis Development Team is working on a fix.

This article will be updated once a fix version is released.

Symptoms

Scenario 1

  1. You re-registered a machine from one account to a different one following the instructions from Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud: Registering Backup Client Manually
  2. You notice that this machine is running more backup plans than are applied to it (there appears to be one or more "ghost" backup plans)

Scenario 2

  1. You cloned a virtual machine with applied backup plan

Symptoms

Impossible to create or save file backup plan with excessive amount of selected items.

Issue occurs in one of the following scenarios:

  1. You start to create file-level backup plan.
  2. You select a large number of files/folders, e.g. 1000 files (there is no fixed number)
  3. When you try to save the plan, it is not saved:
