Wait 10 minutes after service start, clean up databases

The issue has been fixed, please update to the latest build. As workaround delete the SQL Express base or a separate SQL Express instance.

Recommendations in this article target deployment of Acronis Backup in environments of 200 to 1000 machines.

How to move AMS or its SQL databases to another machine.

Set the logging level on Acronis Management Server to collect all events

Click "Detect tape devices" to update the information about the attached tape devices

After AMS service restart you get the error "The specified entry does not exist: 'ID'."

Symptoms

You attempt to login to https://cloud.acronis.com/ and recieve the following error message:

Symptoms

  1. You use a separate MS SQL server for Acronis Management Server database
  2. TLS 1.0 is disabled on the machine with Management Server and other machines
  3. Operations on Management Server fail. Management server log (%ProgramData%/Acronis/AMS/logs/ManagementServer.0.log) contains the following error:

      | error 0x1290021: 01000: [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][DBNETLIB]SSL Security error  [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][DBNETLIB]ConnectionOpen (SECDoClientHandshake()).

Symptoms

1. An Acronis Service (Acronis Managed Machine Service, Acronis Management Server Service etc) is not running,
2. When you try to start it from Windows Task Manager or Services window, it fails with message The system cannot find the file specified.

Symptoms

Backup fails with the following message

The management server is not available for more than 30 days

Symptoms

  1. Your Acronis Management Server database is stored in external SQL server (not the built-in SQLite)
  2. You launch installation of Acronis Cyber Backup 12.5 Build 12730 (or later) to update existing Acronis Management Server. 
  3. Update fails
  4. Installation log contains the following message:

    1: Error 0x1290021: 42000: [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]CREATE DATABASE permission denied in database 'master'

Symptoms

You have updated Acronis Cyber Backup 12.5 to build 8610 or 8650. After update, Acronis Management Server cannot start.

In C:\ProgramData\Acronis\AMS\logs\ManagementServer.0.log you see this error:

Symptoms

You try to install Acronis Cyber Backup 12.5 or Acronis Cyber Protect 15 on a machine where a NIC is disconnected or missing. Both Management Server and Agent are selected for installation.

At 99% of installation progress you get an error:

Registration failed.

Backup agent: "Failed to connect to the management server"

Manual registration fails with an error: ZmqGW return empty AMS addresses list

Cause

Issue in the product.

Symptoms

  1. You want to install an agent in an environment with a proxy.
  2. You have configured proxy according to the user guide (Acronis Cyber Protect 15
  3. Agent registration fails with the following error:

    503 service unavailable

  • Management Server activation fails with the following error:

    Login to this Acronis account failed. Verify that this account exists and your credentials are correct

Symptoms

  1. You are trying to allocate licenses to Management Server (AMS) in Cloud console, but they are not getting allocated: nothing happens, no error message is displayed,
  2. The target AMS contains expired licenses: Trial quotas or subscriptions.

Cause

Issue in the product.

You want to register a machine with Acronis Agent in the management server. Registration fails. You check Acronis Managed Machine service and notice that it is stopped.

When you try to start the service, you get this error (logged in Windows event logs):

Symptoms

  • You updated the software to Acronis Cyber Protect 15 Update 3 or newer version from an older build or from Acronis Cyber Backup 12.5
  • Every day, the following alert appears:

    This management server has been offline for X days. Fix the Internet connection issue and ensure that your license is up to date.
