Setting up E-mail notifications to have Acronis Drive Monitor send alerts and regular disk reports

This issue has been fixed in Acronis Backup 11.5 (Acronis Backup & Recovery 11.5), please upgrade. As workaround you can remove alerts using a special script

You see this alert in WebCP > Monitoring > Alerts:

No internet connection on the node <node>.

Symptoms

The following type of alert is being observed in WebCP > Monitoring > Alerts:

Network interface “<iface_name>” on node “<hostname>” is missing important features (or has them disabled): “<feature_name>”.

Cause

Acronis Cyber Infrastructure periodically checks each network interface for features that are important from performance point of view and shows the corresponding alert warning about missing features.

You receive an email notification about a failed backup.

You check Acronis True Image user interface and all indicates that all backups have completed successfully :

  • green check box is displayed on each backup
  • backup completion confirmation is displayed under Activity tab for each backup
  • a new recovery point under Recovery tab is added as date and time of a successful backup (right upper corner)

Symptoms

Multiple "Failed to apply Active Protection policy" alerts appear on various devices at different time when there are no visible activities in console, e.g. no attempts to apply protection plans or other actions.

Cause

Issue in the product. 

This issue has been fixed in C20.08 release of Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud. To resolve the issue, update the agents to the latest build (23140 or higher).

Symptoms

The following alert is being observed in MONITORING > ALERTS on Acronis Cyber Infrastructure cluster with block storage configured:

The following behavior is observed in Acronis Cyber Infrastructure (ACI) cluster:

1. Alerts "Node is offline" suddenly appear for all nodes in a cluster for a short period of time. During this time, status of the Storage is displayed as 'Unavailable' per WebCP dashboard.

What is maintenance and why is it important?

After Acronis Cyber Infrastructure (ACI) update to version 4.7 the alert of type A CS service has too big journal appeared in WebCP > Monitoring > Alerts, e.g.:

The journal of the CS#1025 on the host node01.vstoragedomain, disk sdc has size 1168M, recommended size is 282M.

Symptoms

Alert Cyber Protection (or Active Protection) service is not responding appears on macOS 10.12 or earlier.

The tenant has been deleted, but alerts/activities from this tenant are still present in widgets and/or reports.

Symptoms

Depending on the version of Acronis Cyber Infrastracture one of the following alerts may be observed in WebCP > Monitoring > Alerts:

1. With ACI version 4.0 and lower:

Disk write cache disabled for disk <disk_name> on node "<node_name>"

2. With ACI version 4.5 and higher:

Symptoms

  1. You registered a local agent with Microsoft Exchange Server and applied a protection plan to All Microsoft Exchange Mailboxes. Alerts are enabled to send a notification if there are no successful backups for 1 day.
  2. Then Agent for Microsoft Exchange was deleted from the service console
  3. You start receiving alerts related to the removed Exchange agent:

    "No successful backups have been performed by the backup plan for more than NN days".

Symptoms

  • An alert has been cleared in Cyber Protection console of customer tenants,
  • The same alert is still visible on partner level in reports and widgets

Cause

Design issue: there is no synchronization of alerts to upper tenants.

This issue has been fixed in Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud 22.04

Symptoms

The following alerts may be observed in WebCP > Monitoring > Alerts of ACI cluster:

  • Cluster has reached 80% of licensed storage capacity
  • Cluster has reached 90% of licensed storage capacity

Meanwhile on WebCP > Settings > Licenses pane, it can be seen that licensed capacity is consumed for less than 80%.

Introduction

Email notifications can be set up in two ways:

1) per backup task (Windows only)

and/or

2) universally for all existing and future backup tasks (Windows, Mac)

Per-backup notifications are more configurable, but are more complicated to set up.

Global notifications are easy to enable, but are less informative.
