If Primary Domain Controller of Windows 2000/2003 Active Directory goes down and Backup Domain controller automatically takes over, then Active Directory will be out of Sync after Primary Domain Controller is restored from a backup
Active Directory
If you have Acronis True Image Echo Management Console installed on a machine with Active Directory and running Windows Server 2008, installation of remote components is impossible
To migrate a domain controller, back up with VSS and use Acronis Universal Restore for recovery
An attempt to connect to an Acronis Agent fails with "Active Directory is not available for the specified user. Cannot create MAPI profile. Probably, the user does not have a mailbox or Microsoft Exchange MAPI and CDO are probably out of date."
Symptoms
- You are backing up your Domain Controller with a single-pass backup.
- Backup fails with:

Summary:
If a Macintosh client attempts to connect to an Acronis Files Connect (formerly ExtremeZ-IP) DFS root volume from a network subnet that is not assigned to a site in Active Directory, you may see this error message in the Acronis Files Connect debug log. "Unable to determine site index for ip address x.x.x.x. This user will not be able to access DFS shares on volume X"
Back up Active Directory with Microsoft Ntbackup, then back up the server using Acronis True Image. Restore the server first with Acronis True Image, then restore Active Directory with Microsoft Ntbackup
The reason is that the backup was created with disabled VSS support
