32-bit

Introduction

Starting from Update 5 (Build 16180) both 32-bit and 64-bit components are installed during initial installation. This article applies to earlier builds.

If you need to create a 32-bit Acronis Bootable Media (Linux-based), install Acronis Bootable Media Builder component on a 32-bit Windows operating system using 32-bit installer of Acronis Backup 12.5. For example, this can be any temporary virtual machine running 32-bit Windows operating system.

Symptoms

You attempt to install Acronis Snap Deploy 6 on the machine where Acronis Snap Deploy 5 is installed. Upgrade installation fails with:

Preparation for installation has failed.

There are Acronis products that are incompatible with the one you are going to install. Uninstall the following products first:

Symptoms

  1. Acronis Management Server is installed on a 64-bit machine
  2. When you attempt to add a device with 32-bit architecture, the installation fails with the following error:

     Installation process failed. {"Result":"Failed", "Code":"24510491", "Description":"Failed to download installation file 'resource.xml' from the server."}
