Description:

With continued use of a MassTransit server files being transferred will accumulate in the Sent and Received folder within a user's mailbox folder.

When transferring files from a Mac to a MassTransit server using Firefox's built-in HTTP file transfer support (without the MassTransit Plug-in), you will be able to select two file types that cannot actually be transferred using HTTP. The affected types (.app and .pkg files) are considered "bundles" or "packages" on Mac OS X. They normally look like a single file but are essentially folders containing multiple related files.

File restore from backup archives located on tapes has been implemented in Acronis Backup & Recovery 11.5

Virtual Appliance does not support restore of files from a disk backup. If you need to restore files from a disk backup, please use Acronis Agent

Update to the latest build or turn on snapshotting for file backup

When providing path to the folder that you want to exclude from backing up, you need to close it with a backward slash "\"

Question:

I am using Mac OS 8.1 and when I view files on my Acronis Files Connect (formerly ExtremeZ-IP) server, the file sizes are incorrect. What's wrong?

 

Answer:

This problem is a known bug with Mac OS 8.1 and AppleShare Client 3.8. It's actually the result of an undocumented portion of the AFP protocol.

Symptom:

Attempting to rename or duplicate a file whose name is longer than 31 characters on an Acronis Files Connect (formerly ExtremeZ-IP) volume from a Mac OS X client causes the file name to be truncated to 31 characters.

Steps to Reproduce:

Copy a file with a long name to an Acronis Files Connect volume from a Mac OS X client. Attempt to rename the file, or duplicate it. The file name will be truncated.

Question:

When I tried to copy some files from one location to another on the server using the Macintosh Finder, I got an error message that said "FILENA~1.TXT" already existed. What's wrong?

Note:The following description applies to Mac OS 9 clients, or Mac OS X clients that are not running Acronis Files Connect (formerly ExtremeZ-IP) 3.0. Acronis Files Connect 3.0/Mac OS X clients can work with files longer than 31 characters.

Pre/post commands are executed before or after the whole backup process. Before/after data capture commands are executed during the backup process, right before and immediately after the snapshot

There are two installation file types: standard installer and web installer

Create two separate tasks if you are planning to back up local and network folders

Windows System Information file lets an Acronis Customer Central Representative have a better insight into situation

Ignore the message or make sure the backup task script file is not locked

Hidden files or folders are only displayed in Acronis True Image interface if Windows Folder options are set to show hidden files, folders, and drives

Introduction

Acronis True Image shows hidden files and folders in user interface if the option "View hidden files" is enabled in Windows. This applies both to selecting what to back up and to selecting files/folders for exclusions.

Symptom

  1. You have a Nonstop backup.
  2. You want to recover some file(s) from that backup.
  3. While browsing backup contents in Acronis True Image's window under Recovery tab, you notice that one or more files are missing.

Cause

Known issue with Nonstop backup browser in Acronis True Image's window. Use one of the methods described below to retrieve the needed file(s) from the Nonstop backup.

Solution

The issue will be fixed in one of the future versions of the software.
