Bootable Media

Symptoms

Acronis Disk Director 12.5 is installed on the same machine with a different Acronis product, e.g. Acronis Backup 12.5 or Acronis True Image 2019.

When creating WinPE-based bootable media, it is not possible to select both products to add them to media.

Cause

Product limitation.

Solution

As a workaround, create a separate WinPE media for each product.

Install or update Acronis Bootable Components, Bootable Media Builder, and Agent for Linux on a Linux system with necessary closed-source kernel modules. Add the module names to the RHEL_PREDEF_LIST list in the /usr/lib/Acronis/mkard.sh script, execute the script as root, and build a new bootable media by using Bootable Media Builder

Introduction

This article instructs how to use Acronis True Image to recover Windows from a boot failure.

Use the present article only if the system is damaged to a state when you can't get to the Desktop screen and launch Acronis True Image normally. If you are able to access Acronis True Image within running Windows, please follow instructions from that article instead.
