Setting up E-mail notifications to have Acronis Drive Monitor send alerts and regular disk reports

This issue has been fixed in Acronis Backup 11.5 (Acronis Backup & Recovery 11.5), please upgrade. As workaround you can remove alerts using a special script

You receive an email notification about a failed backup.

You check Acronis True Image user interface and all indicates that all backups have completed successfully :

  • green check box is displayed on each backup
  • backup completion confirmation is displayed under Activity tab for each backup
  • a new recovery point under Recovery tab is added as date and time of a successful backup (right upper corner)

Symptoms

After agent update to v9.0 (build 21780), previously cleared alerts re-appear in Cyber Protection console.

Cause

Issue in the product.

Solution

This issue has been fixed in Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud 9.0 build 22390.

As a workaround for older builds, clear all obsolete alerts individually or using Clear All button.

If you re-register the affected agent, deleted alerts will reappear again.

 

Introduction

Email notifications can be set up in two ways:

1) per backup task (Windows only)

and/or

2) universally for all existing and future backup tasks (Windows, Mac)

Per-backup notifications are more configurable, but are more complicated to set up.

Global notifications are easy to enable, but are less informative.

You see this alert in WebCP > Monitoring > Alerts:

No internet connection on the node <node>.

The following behavior is observed in Acronis Cyber Infrastructure (ACI) cluster:

1. Alerts "Node is offline" suddenly appear for all nodes in a cluster for a short period of time. During this time, status of the Storage is displayed as 'Unavailable' per WebCP dashboard.

2. Cluster is displayed as 'Healthy' when checking status of the cluster via CLI.

3. No any real interruptions of storage services are noticed while these alerts appear.

4. Cluster version is below 3.5.4-24.

Symptoms

Multiple "Failed to apply Active Protection policy" alerts appear on various devices at different time when there are no visible activities in console, e.g. no attempts to apply protection plans or other actions.

Cause

Issue in the product. 

This issue has been fixed in C20.08 release of Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud. To resolve the issue, update the agents to the latest build (23140 or higher).

'Last backup date' under Devices tab is shown incorrectly in comparison with the 'Activities' tab: last backup date is in the past, although backups run regularly.

False-positive alerts "Backup is missing" and "Backup did not start" while the backup activity works fine.
