58430: Acronis products: backup to cloud fails with "Failed to resolve hostname"

Last update: 29-04-2021

Symptoms

Backup to cloud fails with error:

Error code: 103
Module: 3
LineInfo: 0x8258202786770E01
Fields: {"$module":"disk_bundle_vsa64_3480"}
Message: Failed to resolve hostname baas-fes-us2.acronis.com

Cause

Agent cannot reach the Cloud storage by the hostname. One of the potential causes is IP change.

Solution

You either need to clear DNS records cache or change data center IP addresses in your firewall settings (if your environment has strict firewall policy and you have previously specified IP addresses manually).

To clear DNS records cache:

  1. Open Command Prompt: start -> search -> type "cmd"
  2. In Command Prompt, issue:
    ipconfig /flushdns

To change IP addresses:

  1. In your firewall's settings, navigate to the list of IP addresses allowed through your firewall.
  2. Specify correct IP addresses and ports for datacenters: see access ports and hostnames for a full list.

If the above solution does not help, verify connection to Acronis Datacenters using Connection verification tool. Based on the results, apply solution on the network side.
