Access Denied

The issue relates to different profiles and permissions attributes in Windows

This is a Synology DiskStation Manager 3.0 issue

Acronis Recovery for Microsoft Exchange errors out on trying to restore Information Stores from full backup

As a workaround, back up your E-Mail manually instead doing running it as a scheduled task

Unmount any backups that you have or reboot the machine to solve the issue

Restore the files/folders again with the File level security settings option ticked off


  1. You are attempting to install Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Agent for Windows or Acronis Disk Director 11 Advanced;
  2. The installation starts, but then rolls back;
  3. In the installation log you search for the Return value 3 entry (for operating systems in English) and you see the following error entries:

After installing security update for Exchange Server, Exchange mailbox backups fail with the following error:

Cannot open public folder or mailbox. 
Access is denied


User wants to manually delete a .tib/.tibx backup archive in Explorer, or to modify Acronis configuration files, e.g. to adjust settings of alerts or change default ports for services.

Operation fails with “Access denied” error:

Folder access denied
You need permission to perform this action


Access to Acronis files may be denied by Acronis Self-Protection.


  • C22.02 Agent, build 29051 was successfully installed.
  • By attempt to register Agent with correct customer credentials, the following errors appear: "Access to the Management Server was denied" or "Registration Timed out"
  • Manual registration fails with "Access denied. Not allowed for non-privileged users. Domain: AGENT_CORE"



  • You are using abgw-fra2-arp1 storages on EU2 and EU8 Data centers
  • Backups to Cloud are failing with “Access Denied. The peer certificate has failed the verification”


Issue on the Storage side.

The issue has been resolved.
