In some cases, after installing Acronis Cyber Backup 12.5/Acronis Cyber Protect 15 you need to change the machine's name or IP address or to join this machine to a domain. Both these operations do not bear risks and are not expected to interfere with product functionality.
For Acronis Cyber Backup 12.5, it is recommended to update to build 16327 or later before joining the domain.
- If the Agent machine has been registered via hostname, and then its IP address is changed, the name will be resolved to the new IP automatically.
In case the machine goes offline in Management Server, make sure that it is can be pinged by name from Management Server. If there are connection issues, troubleshoot DNS in the environment: see Acronis Software: Troubleshooting DNS-related Issues
- If the agent machine has been registered via IP address, and appears offline after IP change, re-register it manually: see How to manually add a machine to management server
- If a hostname of an Agent machine has been changed, and this machine has been previously registered via IP, the new name will automatically appear in the management console after Agent machine is restarted.
In case the machine still appears under the old name, restart Acronis Managed Machine Service (MMS) and Acronis Management Server Service (AMS) services on Management Server.
- Adding an Agent machine and/or Management Server machine to a domain does not interfere with product functionality.
