Symptoms

Acronis Active Protection stops on its own.

"Application error" event about anti_ransomware_service.exe is recorded in Windows Application event log (open Windows Start menu, type eventvwr.msc, press Enter, navigate to Windows Logs - Application).

Cause

Known issue with the software. The application crash occurs when the software is unable to parse configuration files.

Symptoms

  1. You created a full disk backup of a system SCSI disk
  2. You recover this system backup to an NVMe disk
  3. After recovery, the system fails to boot, with the following error:

    INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE

Cause

NVMe driver is missing in the source OS.

Solution

Boot the restored machine into Windows Safe Mode. The system will install the required drivers automatically.

Symptoms

Symptoms depend on the product version:

  • Acronis Cyber Backup 12.5 builds 16180, 16318, 16327, 16342, 16343 contain build 0.7.127 –  SnapAPI module will not compile on kernel 5.8 and later
  • Acronis Cyber Protect 15 builds 24426, 24508, 24515 and later contain SnapAPI build 0.7.133 which imminently leads to kernel crash and the following error: 

cannot execute binary file: Exec format error
when trying to execute any binary file.

Symptoms

When you attempt to launch Cyber Files Desktop Client for Mac, the tray icon appears and then disappears right away - the software crashes.

Cause

Issue in the product.

A fix is planned for C21.12 (ETA December 2021).

Solution

This issue has been fixed in C21.12, please update Cyber Files Client for Mac to the latest build. You will need to re-login after installation.
