Backup fails

The issue has been fixed in Acronis Backup 11.7, please update the product to the latest build.

Symptoms

  1. You are backing up your Domain Controller with a single-pass backup.
  2. Backup fails with:

User specified in the backup plan does not have enough privileges for backup on the source machines. Add required privileges.

Symptoms

1. Backup fails with "Internal error"

Symptoms

Entire Mac backup or Disks backup fails with the following error in log:

 error 0xfff1: Resource deadlock avoided

Path mentioned in error log is similar to:

path: /System/Volumes/Data/Users/<username>/Library/CloudStorage/...

Cause

The folder /Users/[username]/Library/CloudStorage/<XXXXXX> is the folder for iCloud files on Mac. These files are stored on the cloud rather than on the local machine.

Solution

Add CloudStorage folder to exclusions: 

Symptoms

After reinstallation of Storage Node and Agent to Update 2 (Build 26981), backup to a managed location fails with the following error:

Failed to connect to the storage node. SocketError: error:14090086:SSL routines:ssl3_get_server_certificate:certificate verify failed

Symptoms

  • The DirectAdmin application has been updated to version 1.642 or newer.
  • Backup fails at the ‘Executing pre-data capture command’ step.
  • The activity log in the Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud console contains the following error:

  • You are running a Microsoft 365 backup 
  • Starting from December 2022, backups fail with “'[Microsoft][ews-code=ErrorInternalServerError]: An internal server error occurred. The operation failed'”
  • All Data centers and both local and C2C backups are affected

Cause

The issue is caused by a global incident on Microsoft side.

Issue has been resolved.

Symptoms

You start a backup of a disk or of the entire Mac, but if fails with the following errors:

  • CreateSnapshot function failed
  • Failed to create volume snapshot

Cause

By default Boot Camp partition is mounted in read-only mode. If Boot Camp partition is mounted in read-write mode by a third-party tool, Acronis software cannot lock this partition for backup.

Solution

As a workaround, mount the Boot Camp partition in read-only mode before running the backup.

Introduction

When a backup ends with an error status (backup is not created), the software displays a short error message in the product interface, and writes the details in a text log file (“full log”).

To see the short error message do either of the following:

Symptoms

  • The Tenant is located on EU1 DC
  • C2C backups are failing with “Cannot open or create backup file. [Archive Server]: internal error” starting with October 2022

Cause

The issue is caused by an incorrect DNS configuration on DC.

Solution

This issue has been resolved.

 

Symptoms

  • You are backing up a device with macOS Big Sur or newer OS version
  • Backup randomly fails with "Operation failed due to a temporary issue in the cloud storage"
  • In the error details, you see the message "Interrupted system call"

Attempting to perform a backup fails with the following error message:

  • The Tenant is located on the EU DC and the storage is baas-fes-eu7.acronis.com
  • Starting from 22nd of March 2023, backups to Cloud fail with “[Archive Server]: storage request timeout”

Cause

Issue on the DC side.
