Symptoms
- You are trying to install the Acronis Cyber Protect 15 Agent manually
- The installation fails with "Failed to connect to machine 'https://***.***.***.***:9877'. HTTP status code: 402"
Solution
When you are entering credentials, use a token rather than the user credentials.
Using a secure token usually bypasses the 402 error and other errors related to agent registration caused by credentials issues. To resolve the issue, follow these steps:
Step 1
- Generate a secure token:
1. In Cyber Protect Console, click on "Devices":
2. Click on "Add":
3. Scroll to the bottom:
4. Click on "Generate":
5. Choose a lifetime for the token:
6. Click on "Generate Token"
7. Copy the Token:
Step 2
- Install the agent:
1. Run the Installer as an administrator
2. Click on "Proceed"
3. Choose "Install a protection Agent" and click on "Install"
4. On The Management Server connection screen:
- Input IP/FQDN of your Management Server:
- Input the token you have generated earlier:
5. Click on "Done" and allow the Installation to complete:
