On the machine where the Acronis Management Server Service itself is running, you can see that it generates a constant high CPU overload. In some environments higher network usage is also seen. To solve this issue, you should delete content of specific folders and change registry values
Symptoms
On the machine where the Acronis Management Server Service itself is running, you can see that it generates a constant high CPU overload. In some environments network usage increases as well.
Cause
The most possible reason is the full log folder and the default time value of the Acronis Agent synchronization with the Acronis Management Server.
This default value is 15 seconds, which means that every managed Agent on the Acronis Management Server connects every 15 seconds to the Acronis Management Server. In larger environments this value can cause a higher network traffic also.
If you have more than 300 Acronis Agents on the Acronis Management Server you will likely experience an overload with the default value of 15 seconds.
Solution
To solve this issue, you should follow these steps:
- Clean the Acronis Management Server database as described in Acronis Backup Advanced: Cleaning Acronis Management Server Database.
- Modify the registry key to increase the default time value:
- Go to Start -> Run -> regedit;
- Navigate to this key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Acronis\AMS\Configuration\Centralized\Synchronization;
- There you will find two values: Period and PeriodHigh;
- Change the Period value from 15 to 600 (which is 10 minutes). Change the PeriodHigh value to 300 (which is 5 minutes).
- On the machine, where the Acronis Management Server Service is running, restart all Acronis Services
- Go to Start -> Run -> services.msc;
- Mark each Service, that begins with Acronis and choose Restart.
