(!) To update Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 components while preserving all previous settings, tasks, and policies, it is recommended to install the update build without uninstalling the previous build.

Solution

  1. Extract Acronis Agent for Linux from the Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 installation package on a Windows machine and copy it to a Linux machine:
    1. On a machine running Windows, run the Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 setup file;
    2. Extract Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Agent for Linux;
    3. The AcronisAgentLinux.i686 file will be extracted;
    4. Copy the extracted AcronisAgentLinux.i686 file to a Linux machine.
  2. On the Linux machine where you copied the extracted AcronisAgentLinux.i686 file, run the following commands:

    chmod 777 AcronisAgentLinux.i686
    ./AcronisAgentLinux.i686

  3. Click Next:

  4. Select Acronis License Server and provide its DNS name or IP address:

  5. If the machine is already registered on the Acronis Management Server, select I will register the component(s) later:

    You will not to reregister the machine. You will only need to synchronize it on the Acronis Management Server:

  6. Click Continue to have the SnapAPI module compiled (strongly recommended):
