    Symptoms

    Update of Acronis Cyber Infrastructure to version 5.1 fails on stage of updating "Management panel and Compute API". Error message is "Failed to do post-update actions".

    In logs of Management Node following error message can be observed during period of update:

    [root@node1 ~]# grep abgw-address /var/log/vstorage-ui-backend/celery.log | tail -n3
    [backend_updater.backend.update.managers ERROR 2022-05-31 12:02:59,917 /opt/rh/rh-python36/root/usr/lib/python3.6/site-packages/backend_updater/backend/update/managers.py:818] Failed to cleanup update: error while scan configs: 'abgw-address' is missing from '/mnt/vstorage/vols/acronis-backup/certs/.abgw.abc-registration-info'
    backend.shell.UnsuccessfulStatusCode: error while scan configs: 'abgw-address' is missing from '/mnt/vstorage/vols/acronis-backup/certs/.abgw.abc-registration-info'
    backend.shell.UnsuccessfulStatusCode: error while scan configs: 'abgw-address' is missing from '/mnt/vstorage/vols/acronis-backup/certs/.abgw.abc-registration-info'

    Cause

    Issue in product, corresponding configuration file does not have necessary parameter specified due to its legacy format.

    [root@node1 ~]# grep abgw-address /mnt/vstorage/vols/acronis-backup/certs/.abgw.abc-registration-info
    [root@node1 ~]#

    Solution

    Manually add the corresponding parameter and its value into the corresponding configuration file:

    1. Take setup-id parameter from current registration info file:

    [root@node1 ~]# grep 'setup-id = '  /mnt/vstorage/vols/acronis-backup/certs/.abgw.abc-registration-info
    setup-id = aa1e114c-d531-471e-a8d9-a38a01412345

    2. Login to Cloud Management Console as administrator user of Partner tenant where ABGW is registered.

    3. Obtain the ABGW address parameter with opening following link in same web-browser window (XX - is your cloud DC region): https://XX-cloud.acronis.com/api/2/infra/aa1e114c-d531-471e-a8d9-a38a014...

    {"capabilities":["backup"],"location_id":"a56696f9-7269-448f-a692-cf61ee12345","backend_type":null,"name":"my_provider_abgw","id":"aa1e114c-d531-471e-a8d9-a38a01412345","version":1,"platform_owned":false,"readonly":false,"owner_tenant_id":"ed916ea2-fe7e-49f4-a81c-3db21f12345","data":{"registration_url":"https://rs-eu-cloud.acronis.com:8443/storages?cipher=gAAAAABincKMBqjRjERDn2ZXzba-eEo0Hks51_mBZ4cEyxTMKwiVH2tYM3v9YcMDgsOTpm1iLUWTb_-No_gOApECgnVrIwJxFctefyg4sZpzW3A7_xxx"},"url":"abgw://test-backup-storage.localdomain:44445/"}

    4. Copy current registration info file:

    [root@node1 ~]# cp /mnt/vstorage/vols/acronis-backup/certs/.abgw.abc-registration-info /root/abgw.abc-registration-info.bkp

    5. Add the line abgw-address = %address of your backup storage% into the registration info file, e.g.:

    [root@node1 ~]# echo "abgw-address = test-backup-storage.localdomain:44445" >> /mnt/vstorage/vols/acronis-backup/certs/.abgw.abc-registration-info
    [root@node1 ~]# cat /mnt/vstorage/vols/acronis-backup/certs/.abgw.abc-registration-info
    .type = abgw.abc-registration-info.0
    abc-url = https://eu-cloud.acronis.com
    abc-account = my_partner_service_admin_user
    setup-id = aa1e114c-d531-471e-a8d9-a38a01412345
    setup-id-compat = aa1e114c-d531-471e-a8d9-a38a01412345
    abgw-address = test-backup-storage.localdomain:44445
