In some cases, Acronis Cyber Protect Connect for Windows may crash upon launch when initializing Bonjour, a third-party LAN scanning service.


If your application crashes, and you have got confirmation from our support team that Bonjour is the root cause, please follow the steps below to disable Bonjour and get the Acronis Cyber Protect Connect to work normally.

To disable Bonjour: 

  1. Open the Acronis Cyber Protect Connect installation folder and find bonjourpolicy.adm file there. The standard path is: %AppData\Local\Programs\Acronis Cyber Protect Connect.
  2. Press Win+R, type gpedit.msc and press Enter.

  3. Once a Group policy editor window opens, right-click Administrative templates.
  4. Click Add/remove templates.
  5. Click Add and choose the bonjourpolicy.adm in the opened dialog.

  6. Click Close.
  7. Open Computer Configuration > Administrative templates > Classic administrative templates > Acronis Cyber Protect Connect.
  8. Double-click Disable Bonjour support.
  9. Choose Enabled.

  10. Launch Acronis Cyber Protect Connect.

The policy will work until you turn it off manually.
