69867: Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud: Acronis Managed Machine service fails to start due to Scheduler service dependency on build 28156 and higher

Symptoms

  1. You cannot start a backup or register an agent because the machine is offline
  2. When you check Acronis services on the machine, Acronis Managed Machine service fails to start with dependency error:

    Error 1068: The dependency service or group failed to start

  3. Acronis Scheduler2 service cannot be started

Cause 

The port 58095 used by Acronis Scheduler2 service is blocked or occupied by different software.

Solution

This issue has been fixed in Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud 21.12, Agent build 28559 - starting from this build Acronis Scheduler2 service no longer requires a port. Please update to the latest build.

Workaround for earlier builds: check which software occupies port 58095, e.g. by running the following commands in CMD:

  • netstat -ano | findstr 58095
    to find the PID of the process listening on port 58095
  • tasklist /svc /fi "pid eq <PID>"
    where <PID> is the process ID found in step 1.

After finding which software uses port 58095, reconfigure this software to use a different port or consider uninstalling it.
