Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office is available in 3 editions:

• Essentials - a subscription-based license for local backup only
• Advanced — a subscription-based license including 500 GB of Cloud storage.
• Premium — a subscription-based license including 1 TB of of Cloud storage.

All editions are available as 1, 3 and 5 machines licenses. Each license can be used for installing Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office on Windows or Mac

After subscription expires, all product functions except recovery are disabled.

You can purchase an upgrade to the next tier of Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office for 3 or 5 computers in the Acronis built-in store. To access it, in the product installed on your computer, go to the Account tab and click Upgrade. You will see Acronis store and all available purchase options.

Acronis standard licensing policy is based on the number of machines which our software is installed on. If multiple operating systems are installed on the machine (multi-boot environment), such machine requires 1 license.

Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office for 1 machine. A single license is required for installation and use on a single machine (Windows or macOS).

Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office for 3/5 machines. A single license is required for installation and use on up to 3/5 machines (Windows and/or macOS) within the same household.

Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office is a backup solution for home users intended for small environments up to 5 machines and Cloud storage limited to 5 TB. For bigger environments, we recommend to use Acronis Cyber Protect 15.

If you currently have an active subscription, a new version build will be available to download for free in your account after release. The new version will be active until your current subscription expiration date.

Users of Acronis True Image 2021 Standard and earlier versions can purchase any subscription plan of Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office through the Acronis in-app store found under the Account tab inside the product. The steps for accessing the in-app store are described here.

If you currently have an active Essential, Advanced or Premium subscription, a new version build will be available to download for free in your account after release. To activate it, just sign in to Acronis True Image installed on your computer, no additional serial number is required. The program will detect the available update automatically and will offer to install it. The new version will be active until your current subscription expiration date.

You can purchase an upgrade license from the built-in store in Acronis True Image installed on your machine. To access the built-in store, go to the Account tab, and then click Upgrade to see all available purchase options.

Essentials subscription comes without Cloud: only local backup is possible. 

Advanced subscription includes 500GB cloud storage quota. If you need more than 500GB, upgrade to Premium.

Premium subscription offers the following cloud storage quotas:

• 1TB
• 2TB
• 3TB
• 4TB
• 5TB

Please note that quotas can't be added together, instead your initial quota is recalculated proportionally to the new one and the expiration date is extended accordingly.

For example, you currently have an Advanced subscription for 1 computer with 500 GB which expires in 5 months and you want to increase your storage to 1.5 TB without increasing the number of machines.

In this case you should purchase Premium subscription for 1 computer with 2TB of Cloud storage - then after purchase the total Cloud storage size will be 2 TB, and the subscription validity period will be extended from 5 months to 1 year and 2.5 months

Additional Cloud storage can be purchased only as a part of upgrade to a higher tier. It's available in the built-in store in the product interface. Please refer to this article for more detailed instructions.

Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office(formerly Acronis True Image) is a backup solution intended for small environments and Cloud quota is limited to 5 TB. If you need more Cloud storage, we recommend using Acronis Cyber Protect 15.

The license expiration date is displayed under the Account tab of installed Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office and at https://account.acronis.com/

New backups creation will be blocked, both for scheduled and manually created backups.

Already created backups, stored in Acronis Cloud, will remain available for recovery for 30 days. If you don't renew during this period, backups will be deleted without possibility of restoration.

Already created backups, stored in any other destination, will remain forever, and you will be able to restore them any time later in the future.

Already created Acronis Bootable Media will continue working. It can perform recovery of previously made backups.

All product functionality, except for recovery from earlier made backups, will be restricted until the subscription is renewed.

If you purchased the product in our Online store, you will find the option to manage your subscription in the invoice received per email after purchase. Please refer to this article for more detailed instructions.

If the purchase was made offline or via reseller, the autorenewal is disabled by default and can't be activated.

If the product was purchased in our Online store, you can disable the auto-renewal for your subscription using the link in the invoice email received after purchase:

1. Go to the Subscription cancelation section in the invoice. There is a separate link for each subscription in the order.

2. Select the subscription you'd like to cancel the auto-renewal for.

3. If the auto-renewal is active, the option Cancel your subscription is available. Click it to disable auto-renewal.

If the purchase was made offline or via reseller, the autorenewal is disabled by default and can't be activated.

If you purchased the product in our Online store and a scheduled auto-renewal payment was missed (for example, because the card was expired or there was not enough funds available in the account), you will get an automatic notification containing a link to modify the payment method. Click the link and choose a different payment option or change credit card details to activate the auto-renewal.

For other scenarios, contact Acronis Support to change the payment method.

Follow guidance #1 or #2 below, depending on whether you have paid already for the renewal or not.

At the moment only 1-year licenses are available. Still, if you wish, you can pay for several years in advance. If you buy several identical subscription licenses for 1 year, indicating the same e-mail address in the purchase form, then you will automatically get the situation, described at Message:"You have conflicting subscriptions". The corresponding dialog at https://account.acronis.com will ask whether you want 1) more computers to cover with licenses (maximum 5) or 2) extend the duration of subscription. By choosing the second option, you can add more time to the current subscription period.

To reduce the number of licensed computers, please wait until your subscription expires. After that, buy a new subscription with the desired number of seats.

To upgrade edition, refer to How to upgrade to Advanced or Premium edition

To downgrade edition, please wait until your subscription expires. After that, buy a new subscription with the desired edition.

It is currently not possible to downgrade product version number of the license (e.g. downgrade to 2020, 2019 or earlier). However, you can run a few earlier unsupported versions of the product with the current subscription: 2021, 2020, 2019, 2018. Don't input serial numbers. Sign into your Acronis account instead to have the subscription activated.

To reduce the cloud storage quota, please wait until your subscription expires. After that, buy a new subscription with the desired cloud storage quota.

If your product is purchased from our Online store, it is automatically registered under your Acronis account. To activate the product on the machine, you just need to sign in to Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office installed on your machine.

If the product is purchased from offline store, you need to sign in to the product and insert the serial number. It will be registered under your account after that.

After the reinstallation of the operating system, the serial number needs to be reassigned from the old system to the new one.

To do so, install the product on the new operating system and follow the instructions from this article to move the license to the new system.

If you have changed hardware, the serial number may need to be reassigned.

If after replacing the hardware you have faced the error "You've exceeded the maximum number of activations for this serial number", follow the steps from this article to reactivate your license.
