Symptoms

Hyper-V host machine with Agent for Hyper-V is not displayed in the "Machines with agent" section.

The same Hyper-V host appears correctly in All Devices and Hyper-V groups.

Cause

The group Machines with agents shows machines with the following types of agents installed:

  • Agent for Windows (32-bit and 64-bit)
  • Agent for Linux (32-bit and 64-bit)
  • Agent for macOS (64-bit and ARM-based)

If only Agent for Hyper-V is installed on Hyper-V host, then the host will not appear in this group. This is expected behavior.

Solution

To make Hyper-V host appear in the group Machines with agent, install Agent for Windows on the Hyper-V host.

Otherwise, you can find the Hyper-V host in Hyper-V group or All devices group.
