This article describes the steps necessary to stop DeviceLock Service on a computer whenever it may be required to check its influence on an issue or when requested by a support engineer for other diagnostic purposes. 

Instruction

To stop DeviceLock Service on a computer:

  1. Check Enable Default Security flag in DeviceLock Service Options-> DeviceLock Administrators window in the clients' policy.
    If Enable Default Security flag is not checked in the client's policy, you will NOT be able to stop DeviceLock Service even if you are using an account from the list of DeviceLock Administrators! 
  2. Run Command Prompt as Administrator: 
  3. Execute the following command to stop DeviceLock Service:

    "C:\Program Files\DeviceLock Agent\dlservice" -e

    where C:\Program Files\DeviceLock Agent\ is the default installation folder of DeviceLock Service on client computers.

    On 64-bit systems that have both DeviceLock Consoles and Service installed, the default installation folder of DeviceLock Service is "C:\Program Files (x86)\DeviceLock\DeviceLock Agent\".
  4. Wait until DeviceLock Service stopped message appears in the Command Prompt.
