67576: Acronis True Image 2021 (Mac): Cannot boot from bootable media or Survival Kit created on macOS 11 Big Sur

Symptoms

You installed Acronis True Image 2021 on macOS 11 Big Sur and created Acronis bootable media or Acronis Survival Kit.

When you attempt to boot from the created bootable media by pressing Option (Alt) while the Mac is starting, Acronis bootable media or Survival Kit does not appear in the list of devices to boot from.

Cause

Issue in the product, reproducing with selected hardware.

Solution

This issue has been fixed in Acronis True Image 2021 Update 4 (Build 39176), please update to the latest build and recreate bootable media.

Troubleshooting options for earlier builds:

  1. Reset NVRAM or PRAM on your Mac as described in Apple Support article HT204063
  2. Reset the system management controller (SMC) on your Mac as described in Apple Support article HT201295
  3. To rule out possible hardware issues with the removable drive, create Acronis bootable media/Survival Kit on a different removable drive and check if the issue reproduces.
