Connection to DeviceLock Service, DeviceLock Enterprise Server or DeviceLock Content Security Server with DeviceLock Management Console using the ‘Connect as’ dialog returns ‘The credentials supplied conflict with an existing set of credentials’ dialog box.
The dialog box indicates a credentials conflict, that may result if you 1. attempted to connect to a selected computer using an account not having enuogh privileges to access DeviceLock Service, DeviceLock Enterprise-, or DeviceLock Content Security Server, and 2. then you use another user credentials to start DeviceLock Management Console.
To avoid the conflict, you must terminate the existing connection. When DeviceLock Management Console detects a credentials conflict, it displays a list of existing connections on your local computer and suggests that you terminate some of them. Highlight all existing connections to the computer you want to connect to, and press ‘Disconnect’ button. Press ‘Close’ button and then try connecting to this computer again. Sometimes, the existing connection cannot be terminated, thus preventing you from connecting as a different user in DeviceLock Management Console. In this case, you need to run DeviceLock Management Console under a user that either has sufficient privileges to access DeviceLock Service, DeviceLock Enterprise-, or DeviceLock Content Security Server, or does not have any active connections to the selected computer at all. Use ‘Run As’ menu item (or run RUNAS from the command line) available in Windows 2000 and later versions of the OS, to run DeviceLock Management Console using different user credentials.
