Description

Creating database fails with ‘Create database permission denied in database ‘name’’ error when installing DeviceLock Enterprise Server, or modifying its configuration in DeviceLock Enterprise Server options.

Comments

The error indicates that the user account (login) used to connect to SQL Server doesn’t have enough privileges to create the database.

Recommendations

The login should have at least the dbcreator Server role (see Server Roles in Login Properties of Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio).
