DeviceLock Management Console returns ‘(7049) The product version on the client and server machines does not match’ error when connecting to DeviceLock Enterprise Server.
The error indicates that the version of DeviceLock Enterprise Server is older than that of DeviceLock Management Console.
Install a matching version of DeviceLock Enterprise Server. Note, that if DeviceLock Enterprise Server and DeviceLock consoles are installed on the same computer, the error may also be caused by mismatch of “dlapi.dll” file (located in ‘%systemroot%\system32’ folder) and “DLServer.exe” executable file (default location is: C:\Program Files\DeviceLock) versions. In this case, delete “dlapi.dll” file and reinstall DeviceLock Consoles on local computer.
