65322: Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud, Acronis Cyber Backup 12.5: Option "if the machine is turned off run missed tasks on startup" does not work if Mac was in sleep mode

use Google Translate

Operating Systems:

You create a protection plan to back up a Mac machine and enable the option If the machine is turned off, run missed tasks at the machine startup.

Machine is in sleep mode during scheduled backup time.

After machine is woken from sleep, backup does not start. The following warning appears in alerts:

Backup status is unknown
The backup agents was offline at a scheduled backup time. The status of the device backups will be unknown until the backup agent becomes online.

Issue in the product.

At the moment, the option If the machine is turned off, run missed tasks at the machine startup is effective only if Mac was actually turned off or rebooted. Sleep/wakeup are not considered turning off in this case.

This issue only applies to macOS

Acronis Development team is working on fixing this issue: the product will treat sleep/wakeup events on Mac in the same way as startup events. This issue will be fixed in one of the future versions.

There are two possible workarounds:

  • Reschedule the backup so that Mac is not asleep during scheduled backup start time
  • Turn off the Mac completely instead of using sleep mode
