You have a Hyper-V host with virtual machines. You notice that backup activities run several times in a row.
Issue in the product: scheduler service replicates the tasks. This could happen if during a Hyper-V host reboot (often due to updates) Acronis management components check VMs availability and cannot detect the machines. VM instances are removed from software records. After the reboot is completed, VM instances are brought back and the backup task is redeployed, but the old task also remains in scheduler service.
This issue has been fixed in Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud 20.09.
For earlier versions, the following workaround can be used:
- Revoke affected protection plans.
- On the affected host, run the task zap command as described in this article.
- Re-apply protection plans.
