Licensing schemes

Subscription licenses for Acronis Cyber Protect 15 are valid for 1, 3, or 5 years. The subscription period starts on the license purchase date. After a subscription expires, all product functionality except recovery will be blocked until further subscription renewal. Backed-up data is still accessible for recovery.

Additionally, space in Acronis Cloud Storage can be purchased. Cloud storage licenses are volume subscriptions valid for 1, 3 or 5 years. Cloud storage is licensed by the amount of storage allocated in Acronis cloud regardless of the number of machines.

Operations, not installations, are licensed in Acronis Cyber Protect. Management components (Acronis Management Server, Acronis Storage Node and Acronis Backup Appliance) do not require additional licenses, you only need licenses for machines\hosts you want to perform operations with.

More information

  • Starting from Update 3 (Build 28035), Acronis Cyber Protect uses centralized license management in the cloud console.
  • Terminal servers/multipoint servers require 1 license per physical machine.
  • A single license is required to use the software for the protection of a single device. If you do not install the software on the device and use it via bootable media, a separate license is required for each protected device.
  • Management Server can only be installed on Windows or Linux. If you have an environment with Macs only (or a single Mac to protect) it is recommended to use a subscription license with Cloud deployment. See User Guide for more information on Cloud deployment.
