How to update SQL credentials in Management Server

If you changed password for SQL account you need to update the credentials in Acronis Management Server. You can also change the user and password for SQL. This can be done using a special script.

  1. Download the script here
  2. Unzip the archive and place the script on the machine with Management Server, e.g in C:\sql_cred folder
  3. Open and run command prompt as Administrator, navigate to the folder where you saved sql-creds-changer.exe and run the following command:

    sql-creds-changer.exe C:\ProgramData\Acronis <new_sql_server_user> <new_sql_server_password>

    e.g. sql-creds-changer.exe C:\ProgramData\Acronis SQLadmin NewPassword

(!) You need to specify user name even when you only need to update the password. Specify current user in this case.

If password contains special characters, such as >%_!@#, put the password in quotes.

  4. Restart the following services:

    • Acronis Service Manager
    • Acronis Management Server
