Activity (e.g. backup or replication to tape) fails with the following error:
Cannot use the tape drive without a properly installed driver
Drivers for the tape drive and/or medium changer are absent.
Make sure that device drivers are up to date:
- Navigate to Device Manager (Win+R -> devmgmt.msc) and make sure the latest version of the driver is installed for both tape drive(s) and medium changer(s): update or reinstall drivers according to instructions from the device vendor:
- Make sure that the installed driver is provided by tape vendor and not by Microsoft:

- Run inventory.
