64634: Acronis Cyber Backup 12.5: Deleting archive fails with "Unknown location" if managed location was renamed

  1. You created a managed location on Acronis Storage Node and saved a backup to it.
  2. You edited the managed location and renamed it.
  3. When you try to delete a backup from the renamed location, operation fails with:

Unknown location <old vault name>



Issue in the product. The metadata of this renamed managed location contains its old name which can lead to this error.

This issue will be fixed in future versions of Acronis Cyber Backup.


Delete the managed location from Storage Node and then add it back:

  1. Delete the backup location from the list: connect to Management Console, go to Backups - > Locations, select the renamed location and click Delete in the menu on the right.
  2. Click Settings > Storage nodes, select the storage node that will manage the location, and then click Add location.
  3. Specify a name for the backup location. In Address field, select the storage node name or IP address that the agents will use to access the location.
  4. In Path field, enter the folder path or browse to the folder with backups. Click Done. Acronis Cyber Backup Management Server will fill in the settings from the backup location automatically
  5. Reattempt backup deletion.
