Quick Steps

Step 1: In the Backup Menu, select a Host and click "Create"

Step 2: Specify the name and description of the backup job

Step 3: Define Compression and Encryption options

Step 4: Select Virtual Machines or Groups to be placed into the backup job

Step 5: Select the storage and folder for each VM Hyper-V host where the backup files will be placed

Step 6: You can configure backup copies to Microsoft Azure if you wish. If you wish to create offsite backups to Azure, you need to provide the account name and key to access the Azure blob storage account where the backup archives will be stored.

Step 7: Backup Schedule. Specify the backup scheduling options

Step 8: Select Backup Type
You have 2 options for Backup Type. Full & Incremental. A Full Backup Job is recommended for manual backups if you want to restore virtual machines quickly in the future. Incremental is recommended for ongoing backups where a full backup is completed first, then the relevant changes between backups are backed up.

Step 9: Set the retention parameters if necessary.

Step 10: Review the summary information and if you wish you can run the job immediately or click finish to create the backup job
