1. You installed Management Server and Agent of Acronis Cyber Backup 12.5 on the same machine,
2. When you try to add machine using Add button in Devices tab, error message appears:
You cannot remotely install the agent on the same machine that performs the remote installation. Please install the agent on this machine locally
Issue in the product: when you click on Add button, Management Server tries to perform a remote installation, which is impossible on the same machine where Management Server is installed.
Further steps depend on whether the Agent is installed on the machine:
- If Agent is already installed on the machine: register Agent manually - see How to manually add a machine to management server
- If Agent is not installed or you are not sure if it is installed or not: run installation file on the affected machine, click on Modify the current installation and check if Agent for Windows box is checked:
If Agent for Windows box is unchecked, it means that Agent was not installed by the last installation attempt: check the box and click Modify to perform changes. After that, Agent should appear in the console automatically.
If Agent for Windows box is checked, then Agent is installed and you need to register the machine manually see How to manually add a machine to management server
If Agent installation completed successfully, but machine does not appear in the console, or if manual registration of Agent fails, collect Acronis System information from the affected machine and contact Acronis Customer Central.
Acronis is working on fixing this issue in future versions of the product.
