Last update: 01-05-2020

  1. You use a separate MS SQL server for Acronis Management Server database
  2. TLS 1.0 is disabled on the machine with Management Server and other machines
  3. Operations on Management Server fail. Management server log (%ProgramData%/Acronis/AMS/logs/ManagementServer.0.log) contains the following error:

      | error 0x1290021: 01000: [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][DBNETLIB]SSL Security error  [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][DBNETLIB]ConnectionOpen (SECDoClientHandshake()).

Obsolete ODBC SQL Server driver.

Update SQL Server ODBC driver and change Management Server configuration:

  1. Download latest SQL Server ODBC driver, e.g. you can find the latest ODBC driver for SQL Server 2017 here
  2. Install the downloaded SQL Server ODBC driver on the machine where Management Server is running
  3. After installing the driver, go to Control Panel -> Administrative tools -> ODBC Data Sources (64-bit)
  4. In OBDC Data Source Administrator window, go to Drivers tab and note the name of the driver

  5. Open C:\ProgramData\Acronis\AMS\mssql\dml_mssql.config for editing
  6.  Find the following string:

    <parameter name="driver"> SQL Server</parameter>

     Parameter value may be “SQL Server“ or different.

  7. Replace all occurrences of <parameter name="driver"> SQL Server</parameter> with <parameter name="driver">%NAME_OF_NEW_SQL_SERVER_ODBC_DRIVER%</parameter> where % NAME_OF_NEW_SQL_SERVER_ODBC_DRIVER % - name of the new ODBC driver that was obtained in Step 4.

  8. Save the config file and restart Acronis Management Server service
