You receive the following error when browsing recovery points for a backup:
Failed to resolve the backup. The specified file does not exist.
If you check the backup location, the first volume of the archive is missing.
E.g. a complete set of archive volumes looks like this
[Machine Name]-[Plan ID]-[Unique ID]A.tibx
[Machine Name]-[Plan ID]-[Unique ID]A-0001.tibx
[Machine Name]-[Plan ID]-[Unique ID]A-0002.tibx
[Machine Name]-[Plan ID]-[Unique ID]A-0003.tibx ...
In case of this error, the file [Machine Name]-[Plan ID]-[Unique ID]A.tibx is not present in backup location.
First volume is missing from the archive. This file is required for proper functioning of backup browsing mechanism.
This issue has been fixed in Acronis Cyber Backup 12.5 Update 4 (Build 14330), please update to the latest build.
If possible, restore the deleted first backup volume back to the backup location. It could have been deleted or misplaced due to user error.
For earlier builds, you can use the following workaround: if the first volume of the backup archive cannot be restored, as a workaround, create a dummy file to replace it:
(!) This workaround only works for non-encrypted archives.
- Create a new empty .txt file in the backup location
- Change the name of this file to the name of the missing initial backup volume, e.g. [Machine Name]-[Plan ID]-[Unique ID]A.tibx
