Symptoms
You use Acronis Cyber Backup Advanced 11.7, Acronis Cyber Backup 12.5 Update 4, or Acronis Cyber Backup Cloud 8.0.
You have a Hyper-V host and back up both virtual machines and their replicas.
You restore a replica to the original location. The restored replica is in an inconsistent state.
Cause
As the original replica was replaced by its restored copy, Hyper-V native replication mechanism considers the resulting replica to have the newest state, while in fact it is older than a native replica would have. This leads to an inconsistent state of files in this replica.
Solution
Turn off Hyper-V replication and then turn it back on. This would recreate the replica from scratch.
In future, do not restore a replica to the original replica. Restore it either as a new VM, or to the original VM.
