Create bootable media with Acronis Bootable Media Builder to get access to all storage locations

Introduction

Starting from build 10330, some locations are not available on Acronis Bootable Media downloaded from Acronis Account:

  • Storage Node
  • Tape locations
  • SFTP

Acronis Cyber Backup 12.5 uses the same downloadable bootable media for both on-premises and cloud deployments. This uniform bootable media contains only the features that are available in both types of deployments. Some of the features are not available in cloud deployments yet (see product documentation) so the dowloaded bootable media has less features than the bootable media created from the product.

Solution

To get access to all backup locations and other features such as Universal Restore, create Acronis Bootable Rescue Media using Bootable Media Builder:

  1. If the default installation option was used, Bootable Media Builder is automatically installed together with Management Server
  2. To install Bootable Media Builder separately.:
    1. Launch Acronis Cyber Backup 12.5 installation file and click Customize Installation settings

    2. Click Change in What to install section

    3. Select Bootable Media Builder component for installation

    4. Click Done to close components selection window and click Install to proceed with installation
  3. Create a bootable media as described in Acronis Cyber Backup 12.5: how to create a bootable media
