Symptoms

You are using Acronis Backup 12.5 with Acronis Storage. You have registered Acronis Storage Gateway cluster in Acronis Backup and want to create a backup location (vault).

Creating vault fails with:

Message: astor_file_open(path='/xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx/folder.info') for append failed: error -37: "Permission denied"

Solution

1. Open /mnt/vstorage/vols/abgw-config/certs/.abgw.abc-registration-info and note setup-id line in the contents of this file:

cat /mnt/vstorage/vols/acronis-backup/certs/.abgw.abc-registration-info

example output:

.type = abgw.abc-registration-info.0
abc-url = https://cloud.acronis.com
abc-account = user@client.com
setup-id = ba34ad41bffc40eb70a3f5d11252d6f61-5533126840

2. Create /mnt/vstorage/vols/acronis-backup/conf.d/dc_uid with this content:

dc_uid=<setup-id>

For example using the following command (setup-ID from the above output is taken here as an example, please replace it with your actual setup ID):

echo "dc_uid=ba34ad31bffc30eb70a4f5d11252d6f61-5533126840" > /mnt/vstorage/vols/acronis-backup/conf.d/dc_uid

3. Restart vstorage-abgw.service: in SSH console of Acronis Storage issue:

systemctl restart vstorage-abgw.service

4. Make sure that Acronis Backup Gateway service has started correctly by checking ABGW log file for the following line:

zstdcat /var/log/vstorage/abgw.log.zst | tail -n 100

09-04-18 05:34:24.543 start: Started prometheus provider at 0.0.0.0:44444

5. Now you can create a vault.
