61147: [Fixed] Acronis Backup: Application backup (SQL and/or Exchange) fails with "Failed to resolve item by its reference"

Symptoms

You are backing up SQL or Exchange DBs by application backup with an always-incremental archive type ('version 11 backup format' in Acronis Backup 12.5).

Backups, validation or replication fails with the following error message:

Failed to resolve item by its reference.

Cause

Issue in the product.

Solution

Acronis Backup 12.5: the issue has been fixed in Update 3(Build 10130). Acronis Backup Cloud: the issue has been fixed in version 7.7.

The issue is fixed in new archive format (version 12 backup format). To resolve the issue, update the product to the latest builds and create a new backup plan specifying version 12 backup format (how to select backup format in Acronis Backup Cloud or in Acronis Backup 12.5).

As a workaround without updating, create a new backup plan or delete the old archive and continue using the old backup plan.

Such archive can be used for recovery, however, further backups will fail.
