The default timeout is too short for a large backup or a backup of multiple virtual machines.

If you are backing up multiple machines to tapes, update Acronis Cyber Backup to Update 2. Product performance for this scenario has been improved since this build.

If you are backing up to a low-performance device, increase the default timeout:

  1. On the machine with Acronis Storage Node installed open Windows Registry: Start -> in search, type regedit.exe and press Enter.
  2. Navigate to HKLM\Software\Acronis\ASN\Configuration\StorageNode\DefaultIdleSessionTimeout
  3. Change the value of DefaultIdleSessionTimeout to 79200.
  4. Save changes.
  5. Restart Acronis Storage Node service.
