Acronis discontinued support for standalone anti-ransomware tool Acronis Ransomware Protection on December 19, 2019. See this page for more information.

You start Acronis Ransomware Protection installation and see this message:

You already have a more powerful Acronis solution installed.

You already have Acronis True Image, Acronis Backup, or Acronis Backup Cloud installed on your computer. All products use the same underlying technology (kernel-level driver), thus can’t be installed side by side.

Current versions of Acronis backup solutions already include ransomware protection. Users of older versions can recover from ransomware attacks by restoring to the clean state from a backup and can upgrade, for reduced price, to current versions which include ransomware protection. Acronis Ransomware Protection is designed for users who are not yet protected against ransomware threats and data loss.

There is no need to install Acronis Ransomware Protection, if you already have Acronis True Image 2017 or 2018, Acronis Backup 12.5, or Acronis Backup Cloud.

The latest versions of Acronis True Image (2018 and 2017), Acronis Backup (12.5), and Acronis Backup Cloud include protection against ransomware. The feature is called Acronis Active Protection. Here you can learn how to enable this feature:

If you have an older or an OEM version, check your upgrade options:
