Symptoms

You are creating a backup plan. Backups should be stored on a network share with anonymous access (anyone can access the share without providing credentials).

Once you select the share, you receive this error:

Error code: 20

LineInfo: 1bc4f5700638955
Fields:  $module : disk_bundle_vsa64_60198
Message: Access is denied. Check whether the access is granted for user 'Acronis Agent User'.

Solution

We strongly advise to set up authenticated access to the network share where you store backups. Backing up any business data and allowing unlimited unauthenticated access to the backup storage is highly insecure.

Once you have set up users who are allowed to access the share, edit your backup plan, reselect the share and provide credentials of this user.

However, if you want to continue using a share with anonymous access to it, you can as workaround provide credentials of any user when selecting the destination in the backup plan. As the network share allows anonymous access and does not check the credentials.
